The book of Alexander Nekrich "1941". June 22 should be removed as a politically harmful publication. Thus, the ban, the destruction of the circulation, the exclusion of the author from the party and his emigration to the United States ended the publication in the USSR of this truly legendary book. Although it was the work of A.M. Nekrich (1920-1993) that aroused wide public interest in the causes of the tragedy of 1941, and the author of the cult “Icebreaker” Viktor Suvorov (Vladimir Rezun) subsequently only saddled a hot topic. The book, published in the Soviet Union in a huge circulation for today, was written by a man who believed in the ideals he had to defend on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. As a professional historian, Alexander Nekrich managed to masterfully paint a broad picture of the situation that preceded the beginning of Operation Barbarossa - from military-economic preparations for the attack, international politics (for example, making peace with Great Britain and contacts of the Finnish and German General Staffs in the winter of 1940-1941) to Nazi plans to destroy the civilian population of the USSR.
