About death and dying

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross wrote On Death and Dying in 1969, first articulating the five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. A chapter of the book is devoted to each of the stages. Since then, thousands of scientific papers have been written based on this scheme, applying it to situations ranging from hospice organization to corporate governance. Kübler-Ross has explored the topic of death and dying in its broadest sense, offering ideas on how important it is for the dying person not to be alone in the last but so important stage of life; how to help patients come to terms with their diagnosis; and how to support those who care for them - medical staff and families.
