The AN-10 turboprop airliner became the first among passenger vehicles of O.K. Antonov Experimental Design Bureau. Antonov. The four-engine airplane, created in the shortest possible time and took to the skies in 1957, was very attractive for both civil aviation and military. The huge fuselage, capable of accommodating over 130 passengers, was impressive - the airplane was even nicknamed "Big Anna", and the designers incorporated many new technical solutions into the airplane itself (for example, S.V. Ilyushin borrowed the design of Antonov's "Ten" flaps for the IL-18). The AN-10 flew on various Aeroflot routes - Rostov-on-Don-Leningrad, Irkutsk-Yakutsk, Khabarovsk-Magadan, Bratsk-Irkutsk-Krasnoyarsk, Kuibyshev-Moscow, Kuibyshev-Ashkhabad, Krasnodar-Moscow and many others. By the early 1970s, Bolshaya Anna had transported 35 million people and one million tons of cargo, ranking first in passenger transportation in the USSR.

The new book by the famous historian of national aviation based on archival documents for the first time in all details tells about the operation on airlines, design and all modifications of the AN-10 (including the transport and landing version of the machine and the air command post).

The publication is illustrated with exclusive drawings and photographs.
