The main theme of the collection "Armor and Men of the Brest Fortress" is its defense in June 1941. The authors (who include both those who came to the topic of the defense decades ago and very young researchers) focus on little-known chapters of the defense, often discovered for the first time by military history buffs. This collection explores the actions of the Red Army's armored vehicles during the defense of the Fortress, the battle history of the 132nd Separate Convoy Battalion and the 98th Anti-Tank Gun Battalion, and the fortifications of the Soviet border zone under the control of the Brest Border Detachment. One of the essays attempts to reinterpret one of the most famous and moving finds discovered in the Fortress in the post-war years—the inscription "We Die Without Shame." Most of the materials presented are accompanied by diagrams, making the description of the events more visual. The scientific works are generally based on previously unknown documents from Russian and foreign archives, as well as testimonies of participants, collected as a result of many years of painstaking work by the authors.
