This paper by anthropologist Paul Radin (1883-1959) examines four cycles of heroes of the North American Winnebago Indians - Trickster, Rabbit, Red Horn, and Gemini. The researcher, who personally worked "in the field" with the rich culture of the people, also called Ho-Chunk, conditionally characterized these cycles as belonging to the "original, primitive, Olympian and Promethean periods", considering them inscribed in a single context of stories about the transformation of the universe - from the chaotic and unformed world of Trickster to the world belonging to man. Radin's fruitful and happy encounter with the Winnebago allowed him to preserve the culture of these Indians for mankind, and to become one of the most prominent anthropologists in the United States.
The publication is addressed to specialists in sociocultural anthropology, analytical psychology, cultural studies, and all those interested in mythology.
