It is said that the level of development of a society is determined by its attitude to children, the elderly and animals. This is what the warm and hooligan story "The Road to Tortuga" is about. In it there is a boy who is not needed by his parents, an old man who is not needed by his daughter, and a dog who was brought to the forest to die. But they all need each other.
Tishka is nine years old, and his Pope likes to say that children are the nails in the coffin lid. That's why the boy was given the nickname Nail. One day he meets an eccentric one-eyed old man, whom everyone calls Goat Grandpa. But in fact he turns out to be a cheerful and kind Skipper. The old man lives in a private house, intended for demolition, on the edge of a new neighborhood. And his overgrown plot is called no other than Tortuga - the island of pirates. Nail and Skipper become friends. However, their merry life is threatened by the old man's daughter Lara, who wants to send her father to a nursing home and sell Tortuga. She almost succeeds, but the friends escape. They embark on a dangerous journey down the river on a makeshift raft in search of the real Tortuga, the one in the Caribbean Sea. Adventure, shipwreck, night forest, talent contest, illness and trial await them. All to become a real family and find their own personal island of freedom.
