All prophecies fall into two categories: those that come true completely and those that do so only partially. Elder Anthony didn't consider himself a prophet, but back in the 1970s, he saw the picture of today's world in minute detail. Moreover, he easily establishes cause-and-effect relationships. But he is not one of those prophets who rejoice in being more insightful than others. Fortunately, he not only shows but also explains how it is possible to sever heavy karmic bonds during the lifetime of both individuals and entire nations. He suggests retreating to the deserts. But not the ones depicted on geographical maps.
Everyone has their own desert within them, and salvation can be found there. "What is the most important thing in the desert?" asks Elder Anthony. "It's monotony; nothing catches your eye, everything is the same." The devil creates mirages, be it greenery, water, gold. As the holy hermits write, we must turn to Christ, say a prayer, cross ourselves, and everything will pass away. Even today, we must strive for a state of mind where our gaze is unattached. For the world around us to be a desert. Condemn yourself for seeing temptation in the desert. It means you wanted to see it, or rather, you are inclined to do so. It's the same with sin. A person sees only sin and sinners around him, turns his attention to it, processes it through his mind, and becomes an accomplice to sin. But don't pay attention to this lawlessness; first incinerate your own shortcomings, and there is no defilement. There you have it, a desert. The first time you noticed it, you were indignant; the second time, you seemed interested in what people were doing there; and the third time, you even wanted to try it yourself... Anyone who wants salvation will leave cities and comfort, heading for the desert. And war... it has been going on since the creation of the world...
