Full name - surname, first name, patronymic - as in the questionnaire. What's that? What is a name? Do we own it? Is it permanent or temporary? Do we appropriate someone else's? A name - a stroke of a pen, a mask, a trap, a double, a paradox - is not well understood. "What is in my name?" How about looking at it from the point of view of history? Personal history, because the name is one's own. The name of the author of this book is just such a story, tragic and funny. To understand it, I had to call philosophers and poets, writers and theologians, artists and historians. I had to summon from oblivion the shadows of grandparents. And call them by name. The book is written in the form of a diary kept in a Parisian apartment during quarantine, in three notebooks corresponding to the author's three names: Olga Jarho - in childhood, Olga Anatolievna Medvedkova - in her passport and Medvedkova, Jarho Olga Anat - in her French health insurance card. The author invites readers of the diary to think, to figure it out, to play with names. Olga Medvedkova is a novelist, historian of art and architecture, senior researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research, and author of the novel Three Characters in Search of Love and Immortality.
