The book consists of three parts. The 1st includes documents from the so-called "Stalin's personal archive" - Soviet intelligence reports that shed light on the secret intentions of the ruling circles of Poland, Germany and Japan to unleash aggression against the USSR within the framework of the "legal mechanism of pushing Germany to the East" presumably in the second half of 1935. It also contains the text of the secret Polish-German treaty of February 25, 1934, and Polish intelligence documents on the movements of a potential "fifth column" - among others, the Polish population from the western regions to the interior of the USSR during 1934-1935. Parts 2 and 3 of the collection illustrate on a documentary basis the secret springs of the "small war," i.e., the mechanism that allowed the Polish political leadership of the time to create a pretext for war with neighboring countries, including the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia.
