A Brief History of Time is more than a lengthy commentary on the complex concepts and theories described in the legendary A Brief History. The authors, Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, after 17 years, which changed a lot in astrophysics, take a new look at the eternal questions: the nature of space and time, the role of God in the creation of the world, the past and future of the universe. The data obtained by astronomical observatories, space telescopes and physics laboratories have become a firm support for theoretical physics, several decades in a row fighting for a coherent, unified field theory, which should unify all known types of interactions. Many are convinced that this is string theory, the provisions and implications of which are interpreted in detail by Professors Hawking and Mlodinow. Black matter and black energy, about which we know only due to gravitational effects, time travel, on which, as the authors believe, "we should not bet yet" - all this was in the focus of their attention.
