National hockey team captain Rook Bowman, aka R.J., flies to Alaska, where he has a summer house on a lake, expecting to relax and fish with his older brother. However, his brother does not dare to leave his pregnant wife, and R.J. faces a month and a half of loneliness. As luck would have it, a pretty lady falls on his lap right in the airplane. Her scarf got caught on the wheel of her suitcase and thus almost strangled her mistress. This becomes an amusing excuse to get acquainted. Also, R.J. is so happy that they didn't recognize him as a celebrity, that he lies to Lainey, that he's just a farmer and nothing special about him at all. Oh, he shouldn't have done that! Soon the story takes an unexpected turn. Even a year and a half later, R.J. still regrets his irrepressible imagination!
"Just a charming, witty, compelling story. There's a heroine with a heart of gold and iron character and a hero who fights back and makes you blush with his ingratiating tone alone." - L. J. Sheng "Smart, funny, sexy, and romantic." - Harlequin Junkie "Elena Hunting is becoming one of the most popular authors of romantic prose." - Romantic Times Book Reviews R.J. is a National Hockey League captain who is stalked too often by the paparazzi. Hoping for a vacation from everything and everyone, he flies to Alaska where he has a great lake house. On the airplane, he runs into Lainey, whose scarf clings to the wheel of her suitcase in a way that nearly strangles her mistress. R.J. is happy to give her help, and even happier that she doesn't recognize him as a celebrity. He even introduces himself to her as a farmer who raises goats and offers to continue their casual acquaintance. But things don't go as smoothly as they would have liked. R.J. will still remember this episode a year and a half later! Because he's in BIG trouble now. And frankly, so does Lainey.
