The task of the compilers of this two-volume collection was to collect and systematize to the fullest extent possible the spiritual heritage of the Holy Martyr Pimen (Belolikov), Bishop of Semirechensk and Vernensk. An important place in the spiritual heritage of the saint is occupied by his candidacy essay on "The Relation of the Ecumenical Councils to the Works of Church Writers", as well as by a number of translations of holy theological and ascetic ancient writings.

The works of Lord Pimen, diverse both in themes and genres, show with what attention and responsibility he treated the printed word, and what importance he attached to it. From the pages of both ecclesiastical and secular periodicals he shares with his readers both theological knowledge and pastoral experience, and acts as a chronicler and commentator of historical events in which he was a participant.

This brief biography, which opens the publication of his spiritual heritage, is intended to outline in the most general terms the life of Vladyka Pimen.
