Orestes Pinto (1889-1961) was a prominent Dutch, British, Belgian and French counterintelligence and intelligence officer. He entered the secret service in 1913 and "retired" in 1949, when he completed his work of "filtering" the Dutch civilian population to identify German agents and collaborators. "The Spy Hunter" is a "textbook" for aspiring counterintelligence operatives, where the author candidly and in detail describes the intelligence and counterintelligence methods and techniques he used during World Wars I and II. Illustrating his story with numerous examples from his own practice. "Friend or Foe?" - The author's account of his service at the headquarters of the Dutch counterintelligence service in London in 1943-1944, when he was involved in screening refugees from Holland arriving in England.
