We can choose politicians through democratic procedures, but we do not choose their wives. What accounts for the predominance of men in politics? How is politics influenced by women? What is it about the tandem principle of activity that existed in ancient Egypt and kept it prosperous for several thousand years? This paper, devoted to the psychological foundations of civilization, uses historical examples to answer these and many other questions: about the psychology of the sexes, non-public politics, the problems of "overpopulation", "sex education" programs, the phenomenon of telegony, types of mental structure, the role of morality in the psyche, the causes of stress and disorders of understanding. The prevalence of humanity (non-human types of mental structure is the key cause of suicide of the existing life structure, which is expressed in the social and biosphere-ecological crisis of global civilization. The alternative is the transition to Humanity - such a psychology of people and culture of mankind, in which instincts will be subject to the will, reason and conscience, as it is supposed to the established Man - the vicar of God on Earth.
