The book includes three fairy tales.

The first is a well-known Russian folk tale "The Peasant and the Bear" as retold by A.N. Tolstoy. The peasant was hard-working, he sowed turnips and rye, and the bear was idle, but each time he hoped to snatch part of the harvest grown by the peasant. The bear is strong, but stupid. The peasant is weaker, but smart. Intelligence wins over strength in this tale. This is how it happens in life.

The peasant and the bear were constantly arguing, and then the artist Viktor Chizhikov came up with a sequel with new characters - two fairy tales called "Petya and Potap" and "Petya Saves Potap".

In these tales, the boy Petya and the bear cub Potap became friends and help each other in everything. They pick raspberries together, enjoy them together, and even chop down a dry tree for firewood. And when the Evil Hunter appears, who wants to kill the old bear and the cub and sell their skins, the clever Petya comes up with a way to get rid of him. With the help of his friend Potap and Grandpa Bear, he sends the Evil Hunter - no more, no less - into space, where he still flies in zero gravity, and the astronauts feed him. Even though he is evil, he is still a man.
