Anna Nemzer was born in Moscow and graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology at the Russian State University for the Humanities. She worked as a journalist and editor for the magazines Snob, Russian Reporter, Vokrug Sveta, and the Kultura TV channel. The novel Plen is the author's debut in prose. The heroes survived the war, each of them their own, were captured and experienced the miracle of salvation. But none of them manages to leave the war there, at the front. The laws of wartime are simple and clear: traitors and cowards are shot, any manifestation of weakness is despised. How can one learn to live without war with one's love, fears, and weaknesses?
