The book "Russian Roots - Serbian Branches" is published in the year of the centenary of the Russian exodus and the emergence of the phenomenon of Russian Serbia - a large community of emigrants from Russia who chose as their refuge the young Slavic state that emerged as a result of the First World War. It was in 1921 that the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes received its first common constitution, and King Aleksandar Karadjordjevic became king of the new triune state exactly one hundred years ago.
The book, written by historian Elena Bondareva, a specialist in Russian emigration, who worked in Serbia for many years, based on personal meetings and conversations, work in archives, libraries and museums, is the first attempt to familiarize the Russian reader with the poetic heritage, as well as with the rich heritage of Russian artists, who created at that time in the Kingdom of SSH. The experience of combining art canvases and poetic lines creates a special wholeness of the cultural atmosphere of an amazing phenomenon - Russian Serbia, which existed between the two world wars.
