A collection of works by Irkutsk writer Yevgeny Suvorov (1934–2009) is dedicated to the Russian village. His novella "Neighbors" was first published in Moscow with a foreword by Viktor Astafyev. Another novella, "Sovka," was highly praised by Valentin Rasputin. "You read this story by Yevgeny Suvorov with a constant and joyful sense of mystery, present both in the world around us and within us," he wrote. In his novella "Don't Cry, Hawk," critics believe Yevgeny Suvorov went further than many writers on the village, revealing layers of depth untouched by the writer's pen. The collection also includes selected short stories.
