The book, dedicated to the events of the Soviet-Polish War (1920-1921), includes the memoirs of two military and political figures who looked at each other literally through the crosshairs: the commander-in-chief of the Polish army, Jozef Piłsudski, and the commander of the Soviet Western Front, Mikhail Tukhachevsky. People of different age, character and destiny came together on the battlefield with different goals: Piłsudski sought to revive "the great Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from sea to sea", Tukhachevsky - "to advance the world revolution in Europe". Neither of them succeeded in accomplishing what they had planned.
Soviet Russia lost the war and for nearly twenty years was deprived of the lands of Western Ukraine and Belorussia. Poland became a significant force in European politics, but ... for the same twenty years. There are still fierce debates among historians about the origins, course and results of the war.
The book is addressed to the reader who wants to learn more about little-known events in history and to form his or her own opinion about them.
