Rashid Ismail Khalidi (born 1948) is an American historian of Palestinian descent, a descendant of the first mayor of Jerusalem, was president of the Association for the Study of the Middle East, and taught at the University of Lebanon, the American University of Beirut, the University of Chicago and Columbia. Author of several books on the history of the Middle East.
The Hundred Years' War for Palestine covers the period from 1917 to 2017 - the tumultuous events in the Middle East. In addition to traditional historical methods and sources, Rashid Khalidi draws on family archives, memories passed down in his family from generation to generation, and his own experiences as a person involved in negotiations between Palestinian groups and Israelis.
