"The Flavor Thesaurus" is a list of 99 popular foods with various combinations—both classic and lesser-known. There are 980 flavor pairings in total, with recipes for 200 of them. All ingredients are divided into 16 thematic groups, such as "cheese," "seafood," "fried," and so on. Each flavor pairing is accompanied by an article with culinary, historical, and original background. In addition to classic pairings such as pork and apple, cucumber and dill, the dictionary also features modern pairings such as goat cheese and beetroot, lobster and vanilla, as well as less desirable combinations such as lemon and beef, blueberries and mushrooms, and so on.
