"Detective"
stories about Vasya Kurolesov Yuri Koval (1938-1995) wrote about twenty years.
"The Adventures of Vasya Kurolesov" was published in 1971, and the last of the
written books of the cycle, "Citizen Loshakov's Mistake", in 1989.
The word "detective" we took in quotation marks: although the plot here
really sharp and the author (as you will learn from the textual comments)
used the experience of his father, who served in criminal investigation for many years,
nevertheless, the Kurolesov trilogy is, first of all, a monument of Russian literature of the XX
century and a brilliant description of the Moscow and Moscow suburbs of the 1960-1980s.
The realities of the lives of the heroes of the book are not very understandable to a modern teenager, therefore
the book was commented by well-known scholars, two professors of Russian philology -
Oleg Lekmanov (National Research University Higher School of Economics, author of biographies of Osip Mandelstam, Sergey Yesenin,
and Roman Leibov from the University of Tartu (Estonia).
University of Tartu (Estonia).
