What is this book about? Lent is a special time, and children of middle and high school age can now meaningfully navigate this path of preparation for Easter. This book contains stories, parables, and Gospel passages for each day of Lent, all accessible to children. Who is this book for? This book is intended for children of middle school age. It can serve as a supplementary resource for Sunday school: by reading it at home, children can discuss or review what they have read with their teacher on Sundays. The book can also serve as a home study aid for self-study: it explains, interprets, and describes various church concepts in a simple and accessible manner. Why did we decide to publish this book? We know that among the vast flood of church literature, it is difficult to find collected and systematized information about what happens in the Church every day. And the days of Lent are especially important for understanding and comprehension. Every parent wants their child not to "stand by" services, but to live in the Church, to live with the Church. Therefore, we have prepared a publication that is accessible and easy to understand for children aged 10-15, both on their own and with their families. Diana Lapshina's beautiful illustrations, featuring smiling, kind saints and prophets, soften the emphasis on such complex topics, allowing children to view the book not as a boring textbook, but as an engaging and enjoyable read. Tatyana Korshunova is a journalist, author of numerous books for children and adults about Orthodoxy, and a mother of many children. Recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
