Young teacher Fumi Kotani comes to work at an elementary school located in the industrial area of Osaka. In Fumi's class there is an orphan Tetsuzo - a silent and unfriendly boy who seems to be interested only in flies. Kotani's patience, her willingness to understand and listen to the child help her find a common language with Tetsuzo. And it turns out that sometimes the ability of one person to look at the world impartially is enough for the lives of many people to change - for the better.

The novel by the famous Japanese writer Kenjiro Haitani "Rabbit's View" (1974) has gone through many reprints (with a total circulation of more than two million copies), was translated into English, is widely known in the UK, USA and Canada and was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal.
