The seventh book of stories by Eduard Kochergin - the chief artist of the Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater - contains six narratives on different subjects. These real stories cover more than half a century of the author's life. Here and an episode of his wanderings as a street kid in the Urals, and the memory of the first years of work in the BDT, and the story of a brilliant production of Verdi's opera "Don Carlos" in 1979 in the Finnish city of Savonlinna, where Kochergin, already known by then theater artist, acted as a scenographer. The book is named after the central story, dedicated to the life of a seemingly unremarkable Russian woman who went through many hardships of the Soviet era - Lydia Naidyonova. The appendix contains archival photographs and sketches of theatrical costumes from the archive of the author of the book.
