In his subsequent life, replete with twists and turns, Grebnev is forced to abandon his profession, work as an ambulance driver, re-enter medical school, and flee persecution from the secret services. He often faces the difficult question of whether to help a seriously ill person cope with their illness or not. After all, by revealing his talents to the world, he would become a target for intelligence agencies around the world.
Over the years, Victor became more experienced. He had to change his name and country, and he learned to earn big money, but the sword of Damocles, revealing his almost magical abilities, always hung over his head.
