The book is dedicated to N.S. Khrushchev, who arbitrarily attempted to remake not only the USSR but the entire world with his revolution. As a result of ill-conceived reforms, the country's economy plunged into ruin. Driven by vengeance, Nikita Khrushchev debunked Stalin's personality cult and created his own, but he lacked his predecessor's charisma.

After Stalin's death, he waged a fierce battle against the security forces who had emerged victorious from the Great Patriotic War—from G.K. Zhukov to V.S. Abakumov.
During Khrushchev's reign, the standard of living plummeted, persecution of the opposition and priests began and continued, and the army and navy were thoughtlessly reduced. Heads of state security and internal affairs agencies, as well as protesting citizens, were arrested and executed.

All this led to Khrushchev's overthrow in 1964 by his Politburo comrades. In essence, the damage Khrushchev inflicted on his country was never condemned by his fellow party members. The book also contains chapters on contemporary life in Russia.
The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
