Till Lindemann has long needed no introduction. He is a musician, lyricist, and lead singer of the band Rammstein. This collection includes previously unpublished poems by Till Lindemann, presented here in German and Russian.
His lyrics are provocative, and only true connoisseurs will be able to truly appreciate and understand them.
"People rarely have to choose between drinking gasoline or freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast. However, when you consider this alternative, you move one step further from the norm," writes Gert Hof, Rammstein's first lighting designer and a close friend of Lindemann, in the introduction to the collection.
Try to side with the witch who wants to bake cookies from Hansel and Gretel—perhaps you'll be able to reconcile the concepts of norm and Lindemann's poetry. And it's not that the witch loves the taste. No, she wants these cookies because... isn't that funny?
The collection consists of poems in two languages, German and Russian, with double-page illustrations by Dan Zozulya.
The poems were translated by science fiction writer, poet, and literary scholar Evgeny Vitkovsky, translator of Neil Gaiman and Theodore Kramer, and compiler of collections of Baudelaire, Valéry, and Rimbaud.
Lindemann will present the book in December during the "Messer" book and music tour.
