This textbook examines liturgical pronunciation norms from a historical, denominational, and educational perspective. The pronunciation of Church Slavonic texts in the 16th and 17th centuries is characterized based on B.A. Uspensky's reconstruction of the book pronunciation system, taking into account the critical comments of his colleagues. The liturgical pronunciation system of the Priestless Old Believers is described in its current state. The practical section of the textbook contains a set of liturgical pronunciation rules and other teaching materials that can be applied to texts recorded in 16th- and 17th-century sources, as well as to later texts that continue the same literary and textual tradition.

This publication is intended for students of the choir-regent and pastoral departments of educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church, students of higher educational institutions studying the program "Old Russian Singing Art", as well as anyone interested in the issues of church reading and singing.
