Lowen Ashley is on the verge of financial ruin. So she accepts an offer from the husband of the famous writer Verity Crawford to co-author her novel, since she has been bedridden and unresponsive since the accident. Among the drafts of the new book, Lowen accidentally finds an unfinished biography - one that Verity definitely did not intend to make public. The text is full of madness, and it contains a confession to murder. At first, Lowen does not dare to tell her husband Jeremy about it, for whom she has sympathy. But when Lowen begins to suspect that Verity is faking illness and walking around the sleeping house at night, she understands that she must find the truth for the sake of her own safety.
